Why is the sea still calm and still have waves?
Usually we always hear that wind, waves and wind always go together, no wind how can there be waves? Wind is the main cause of ocean waves, but the phenomenon of rising waves in the ocean still has many other causes.
Waves.
- Just as the phenomenon of a stone falling into the water will ripple the waves that spread around, the ocean is so vast, sometimes the waves caused by the wind somewhere in the sea can also spread to other places.
- When the tide rises, the sea water will rise to the shore, then even if there is no wind, it can make waves.
- The oceans on the earth all have ocean currents, when the sea currents move, the sea surface will no longer be calm.
Sometimes earthquakes, volcanic eruptions on the seabed can also stir up the ocean to create waves.
