Why should watch Perseids meteor shower tonight?

The annual Perseids meteor shower event is always one of the most remarkable astronomical events of the year. Because this is one of the two largest and brightest stars with a peak density reaching 100 streaks / hour, it is possible to use the naked eye to observe in the cloudy sky.

Watch the Perseids meteor shower on the morning of August 13, 2015

This year, watching stars will be especially advantageous because the peak will fall on Wednesday night (August 12) and Thursday morning (August 13). According to the lunar calendar, this is the new moon period (28 - 29 lunar calendar). So the sky will not have a moon and watching meteor will not be affected by the light from the moon anymore, much easier.

The last time the Perseids meteor shower peaked at about the same time was in 2007.

Each Perseids meteor is a debris of Swift-Tuttle comet left on Earth orbit. And every August, the Earth will reach the orbit of these small pieces.
