Watch the biggest meteor shower of the year

On the night of August 12-13, astronomers will have the opportunity to admire the largest meteor shower of the year with a density of 60-100 streaks per hour.

As reported, on the night of 12-13 August (Vietnam time), the biggest meteor shower of the year will take place called Perseids. This is one of the two largest meteors in the year with a density of up to 60-100 meteors every hour, including lots of bright and long meteors.

This meteor shower originated from the comet Swift-Tuttle . As the Earth passes through this 27km-diameter Swift-Tuttle comet, a large group of meteorites from this comet will plunge into the Earth's atmosphere, rubbing against the air and igniting to form light trails. which we call a meteor.

Studies show that meteorite debris rushes into the Earth's atmosphere at a speed of 30-60km / s and ignites at an altitude of 60-100km from the ground.

NASA researcher Bill Cooke said: "Turn to the northeast, the best viewing time will be the hours before dawn of August 13 when the sky is not cloudy."

Mr. Bill Cooke added: "Many people often go out for a few minutes and look forward to seeing meteor falling in the sky, but in my experience, you should be prepared for at least a few hours to fully see the streaks glowing tape ".

As expected, the time of meteor shower is at maximum level from 1h - 4am (ie night 12 - dawn on August 13). We can observe this phenomenon in Vietnam in a cloudy, less cloudy weather condition.
