According to the Regulation on prevention of earthquakes, tsunamis, the earthquake news, tsunami warning is carried out through channels of Voice and Television, internal information systems of ministries and branches, mass media.

Upon receiving this news, the Voice and Television station must immediately stop the broadcast program to carry out earthquake news and tsunami warnings.

Local authorities at all levels, tsunami alarm stations, local radio and television stations, coastal information stations and all organizations and individuals must also promptly inform the community in the area. affected areas to actively prevent and avoid.

In this regulation, the Prime Minister also allowed the use of telecommunications networks to text alerts of earthquakes and tsunamis. The Ministry of Post and Telematics should direct businesses in the industry to ensure timely communication of warnings about earthquakes and tsunamis from the Institute of Geophysics to mass media and concerned agencies. .

At the same time, instructing mobile information enterprises to transfer earthquake and tsunami warning information provided by the Institute of Geophysics to mobile subscribers in the affected area in the form of messages.

After receiving earthquake news, tsunami warnings, all citizens in the affected area must actively evacuate the danger zone. People's Committees at all levels, in all forms, organize to guide evacuation of people to safe places.

This regulation also clearly states that the Institute of Geophysics - the unit responsible for the study and warning of earthquakes and tsunamis - must always be in the state of alarm, 24-hour duty to monitor and collect , processing information and distributing information. The alarming stations must also be available 24 hours a day to receive and broadcast warning and alarm messages on earthquakes and tsunamis.

In the socio-economic development plan, the provincial People's Committees must survey and calculate the impact factors of earthquakes and tsunamis. For high risk areas, it is necessary to organize this disaster prevention plan locally. Particularly in coastal areas at risk of tsunamis, it is necessary to review, supplement and adjust plannings in order to limit the impact of tsunamis on urban centers, concentrated residential areas, industries and tourism. coastal and islands.

Regulations also stipulate that a tsunami prevention project should be built like a coastal alarm system. The area at risk of tsunami impacts must have a plan and plan for planting and protecting coastal protection forests; to build and upgrade a solid sea dike route to ensure the prevention and fight against storms and reduce the impact of tsunamis.
