Windows XP is supported until 2014
Microsoft decided to extend the XP operating system due to too many requests from customers, claiming Windows 7 will be available in early 2010.
In addition, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) can provide preinstalled Windows XP systems until January 31, 2009.
Typically, Microsoft only supports each operating system for 10 years from when the product is on the market. New moves show that they have admitted that many businesses do not want to upgrade to Vista.

"Windows Vista is an important step forward for Microsoft, but our customers have made a clear message that they want long-term support for XP , " said Bill Veghte, vice president of Windows business.
Last year, the US software group made efforts to collaborate with hardware and software partners to increase system compatibility for Vista. Veghte said it was a valuable lesson for them to develop Windows 7 better.
