Accordingly, color images will be transmitted wirelessly from mobile phones to a 13.1-inch (e-paper) electronic paper (equivalent to A4 paper size). What KDDI aims for is the creation of the first mobile electronic paper page that can display color images stored on mobile phones.

The phone will use infrared waves to transmit images to the e-paper. The display is based on Electronic Liquid Powder technology for image reproduction and display of 4096 colors in less than 12 seconds.

Users do not need a lot of complicated operations but only need to supply power to the page, and the software operation will be done directly on the phone before the signal is sent. KDDI has developed systems for use in the insurance and financial industries. These are places that need to display confidential personal information for user confirmation. Through mobile phones, users can lock and cancel remote data to that display.
