According to Business Insider, this conclusion was made by the team at Canisius College after analyzing data on sleeping habits of 962 adult women in the United States. In contrast to dogs, two other experimental groups are cats and humans, which adversely affect women's sleep.
In Anthrozoös Journal, the authors say that the process of sleeping in women is less disruptive when there are dogs lying around. They feel more comfortable and safe. In addition, dog owners are more likely to wake up early than those who don't raise animals or raise cats. Dog farming promotes responsible individuals as well as strict adherence to daily routines, according to the New York Post.
Meanwhile, the team found that cats have a negative impact on sleep in women, making them feel uncomfortable and less sheltered. This phenomenon also occurs when women sleep next to their partners.
However, the owner's perception of sleeping next to pets can make a difference compared to the research results. In general, scientists still need to do more research to find a closer relationship between the subject of bed sharing and the influence of human sleep.
