The study was published in the medical journal Lancet. Dr Mika Kivimaki (University of London, chair of the study) said the new study is at an early stage. The increased risk of stroke may be due to severe stress from working long hours , because sitting for too long, with little time to take care of yourself. Health experts recommend that people working overtime should check their blood pressure regularly.

'Most of us can reduce sitting time, increase physical activity time and improve diet in work, which is more important than spending a lot of time on work', Dr. Tim Chico, uncle Sheffield University cardiologist gives advice.
