China welcomes Internet World Expo 2010

In order to attract young people and those who are unable to directly attend the planet's largest fair, the Swedish government and the main organizer decided to put the World Expo online.

' With the Internet World Expo, we will be able to reach out to those groups who are unable to access the fair in the style of current organization, ' said Staffan Bjorck, project director of the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Paris-based BIE ( Bureau International des Expositions ), will support $ 234,000 for the project, and the Swedish government may also invest the same amount. As predicted, the Internet World Expo will attract more than 100 countries worldwide to register to build virtual booths and about 40 million people, mostly aged 15-24, to the site every day.

' Site will become the encyclopedia of culture, traditions and music of many different countries, ' said Bjorck, also a deputy director of BIE. ' The project will open doors to people around the globe, when it is difficult to count how many people' visit 'the Expo .'

The World Expo is held every 5 years and lasts for 6 months. About 22 million people participated in Expo 2005, ending in September, in Aichi, Japan. The next fair will take place in Shanghai, China in 2010 with an estimated 70 million visitors.
