World population is about to reach 7 billion people

The United Nations report considers the world event of 7 billion people a success and shows the progress of humanity. The average life expectancy of the world has increased from 48 years in the early 50s to about 68 years as it is now. The infant mortality rate also decreased from 133 / 1,000 births in the 50s to 46 / 1,000 in the last 5 years.

In many developing countries, the population is growing faster than economic growth and unmet reproductive health needs. In poor countries, famine, food insecurity, inequality, high fertility and mortality rates are a vicious cycle.

In addition, the report also shows the new trends of the world. The world is still very young. People under the age of 25 make up 43% of the global population, in some countries this rate is over 60%. The number of old people also increased. Currently, the world has about 893 million people over 60 years old and by the middle of this century will increase to 2.4 billion people.

The two most populous countries in the world China and India will have a position swap in the future. By 2025, India will have 1.46 billion people, surpassing China with 1.39 billion people. This gap will grow as India reaches 1.7 billion by 2060, while China will be reduced to only about 1.3 billion by 2050.
