Yahoo! Japan introduces 3D printer for visually impaired children

Yahoo! Japan has created a hybrid device between a 3D printer and a computer to help make the Internet no longer the only tool for the eye.

In a collaborative project with Hakuhodo Kettle Advertising Company, Yahoo! Japan has developed a device called "Hands On Search," with a semi-3D printer design, half a computer capable of producing almost everything a user needs.

One of the main users of the "Hands On Search" printer is the blind baby. Specifically, they only need voice commands with simple commands such as "giraffes" or "Skytree Tokyo Tower" , which instantly searches for images (with the built-in Yahoo! Search tool). available) and print a miniature of what is required.

Yahoo! Japan also said that if it did not find the image, the machine would send a request for more information.

The company's representative also stated that they did not intend to commercialize "Hands On Search". Currently the machine is being loaned to the school of blind children free until mid-October this year.

"Then we will give the machine to the organizations that need it the most, such as the school for blind children.We are still studying which organizations need the most and will decide. This will be the end of October, " said Kazuaki Hashida, creative director at Hakuhodo Kettle, in an interview with Mashable.
