The new plant called Capparis daknongensis DT Sy , also known as Cable Dak Nong , was found by the research team of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and Thai Nguyen Teachers University during the survey in Dak Agriculture (Central Highlands).

According to the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology website, Dak Nong Cable is 4 meters long, the petiole of the species is nearly two centimeters long and the leaves are oval. Their flower stalks are nearly two centimeters. This species has oval fruits and when ripe is yellow.

Scientists said that the species was only observed 25-30 individuals growing on the mountainside, or on the slope and on the small mound in the secondary forest. They are restricted to population sizes estimated at less than 50 mature individuals.

This species is listed as endangered alarm conservation, according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Vietnamese scientists continue to study biological and ecological characteristics in order to conserve effectively.
