Discovering a mysterious cave cave population

A cave complex with deep mysteries has just been discovered in the tourist area - the historical and cultural relics of the national landscape of Dray Sap waterfall - Gia Long, Dak Nong province.

During a forest patrol, the Management Board of the Dray Sap Special-use Forest Management Board in the Dak Sor commune, Krong No district discovered a wild cave population in sub-area 1246. Enough to penetrate deeply to explore.

Following Ban's rangers, we waded the forest for more than 2 hours. These caves are home to many bats, standing about 20 meters from the mouth of the cave, recognizing the strong smell of bat manure. Currently, no one knows what is in the cave, how many kilometers deep and where it leads.

According to many people, these bat burrows have existed for a long time but no one dares to enter because they are afraid of snakes, pythons or beasts that eat meat. There are also opinions that it is possible to pass through the Serepok river.

Mr. Tran Xuan Quang, Forest Ranger Rangers officer said: In this area, we have found that there are about 5 to 6 burrows, every cave has many difficulties. I was with a Japanese who specializes in cave research, going deep into the cave for about 2 hours, not seeing where the final destination of the cave should give up. So far, perhaps no one has gone deeper.

Unlike the bats in Quang Binh and the northern provinces, this bat cave complex is not located in the mountains but sinks underground, under primitive forests, so very humid. The cave mouth is from 3 to 10m wide, around the cave mouth, arch and entrance to the cave are granite blocks, honeycomb lying unevenly, with flat sections. About 20 meters deep, the cave was pitch black, couldn't see the path and when we tried to howl, we did not hear echoes.

Mr. Ha Cong Tung judged: Because of the characteristic of primeval forest surrounded by pythons, snakes, wild animals, strange cave often accumulates poisonous gas so no one dares to risk it. Want to explore, learn, need to have experts on caves, modern means of support.

A flashback hydropower expert: More than 20 years ago, Dak Lak province encouraged the implementation of a survey project, building a hydroelectric plant at Gia Long waterfall to provide electricity for Krong No district. The project pioneers then discovered some bat burrows. They also did not go deep into the cave but considered the possibility that the cave system would drain the water needed to accumulate electricity. After that, because the 500 KV line was built running through this area, the project stopped always starting.
