57 newly discovered caves in Quang Binh
For more than a month, the Royal Royal Cave specialist team discovered 57 new caves in Quang Binh, including the cave formed five million years ago, under the lake.
On June 22, Quang Binh province organized the announcement of the new cave survey results in this province, discovered by the Royal British cave specialist team.
From March 5 to April 10, the delegation discovered 57 caves, total length of 20,127 m.These caves are located GPS, put on a cave map in Quang Binh.
For the first time, the team discovered a cave formed underwater in Quang Binh.It is Hoa Huong cave, named after the couple to help the team discover. The cave formed under the lake, about 5 million years old, the largest in the caves has now been discovered in Quang Binh.
The entrance to Hoa Huong cave, an underground cave is assessed to be valuable in geology, science and tourism.Currently, the water in the cave is no longer available.
Tien 2 cave in Minh Hoa district is 2,519 m long.
Hoa Huong cave is 2,876 m long, Hang Bom is 1,500 m long, Dinh 1 cave is 1,430 m long, Ruc Ma Rinh 2 cave is 1,360 m long, Cay Sanh cave is 850 m long .
Many caves were appreciated by Mr. Limbert for tourism and will be exported to Quang Binh province for exploitation in the coming time.
According to Mr. Howard Limbert, the expedition caves are mostly without human footprints and there are some caves that have not yet surveyed the length. The team measured, photographed and recorded the parameters of the cave.
The team learns survival skills from native people, chopping vines and banana trees to find drinking water. There are surveys, the group must stay in the forest for 8 days.
During this expedition, the delegation discovered many large sinking holes. At Leo Pit cave, it is 133 meters deep;Cay Mang cave is 129 m deep;Bang cave is 121 m;Hoa Huong cave is 121;Mouse Cave is 111 m;Lui cave is 96 m;Noi Dong cave is 93 m.The discovery of the sinking holes was very difficult for Mr. Limbert and "scare the experts".
Many caves are valuable in landscape, there are stalactites, ceilings, underground flows, sandy beaches, cliffs, cave arches ., which have many potentials for developing tourism discovery, such as: Hoa Huong , Buong, Cay Sanh, Ma Rinh, Tu Lu . However, the development of cave tourism should also focus on the conservation and restriction of visitors, Mr. Howard Limbert advised.Use flycam to record the exploratory footage of sinkholes. In the picture is a 130 m deep hole seen from flycam.
The group discovered many different animals such as fish and crustaceans with transparent bodies. This is a valuable scientific information in the study of geology, geomorphology and biodiversity in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.In the picture is a scorpion with a transparent body in Hoa Huong cave.
This is the 17th time the Royal cave expedition conducted a cave survey in Phong Nha - Ke Bang since 1990. Up to now, the delegation has surveyed a total of 311 large and small caves with total length of exploration. over 200 km.This survey, the team also met the large bombs left from the war.
