Disputes connecting between VNPT and Viettel, spam and spy spread . Too many dark areas with information technology (IT) and telecommunications (VT) Vietnam in 2005.
The following is a list of 10 outstanding IT-VT events in 2005 voted by The Beat of Life .
1. The National Assembly passed the Law on Electronic Transactions and IT Law
The succession of the National Assembly on the Electronic Transaction Law and IT Law is a very long step for the IT industry. From now on the legal value of electronic transactions, data messages, electronic signatures used in electronic transactions has been secured. These two new laws are expected to create a legal environment to promote the use of electronic transactions, contributing to improving the efficiency of socio-economic development, promoting the application of science and technology, improving administrative ways, economic integration, security .
2. Exploding online games
Although it started a year ago, it was not until 2005 that the new online game really got a fever when VinaGame, FPT, VASC giants joined.
But the implications of this new trend also began to appear worrying. The truancy, quitting to play online games, confusing the real and virtual worlds . gradually became a daily affair, some people even nearly lost their lives because of excessive gaming.
3. Network sex scandal
The case of singer Nguyen Hong Nhung was released by her former lover "room the" before she could cool down, the "black" websites were boiling again with hot video clips of actress Yen Vy. Then there are a series of other beauties connecting online in "sexy" poses: Ho Ngoc Ha, Bao Hoa, Ha Kieu Anh .
Some characters are victims of malicious retaliation, but it does not exclude the possibility that this is the beauty of marketing themselves.
4. The "hot" mobile growth and the chorus "O e e"
In 2005, the market witnessed the explosion of mobile subscribers with the sudden growth of Viettel Mobile network. This mobile network has reached the target of 2 million subscribers after just over a year of service delivery. Before the 'encroachment' of 'juniors', Vinaphone and MobiFone also launched their own strategies to regain and develop market share. As a result, compared to 2004, the number of new mobile phone subscribers in 2005 doubled with 4.5 million new subscribers.
However, this "hot" growth also reveals the inevitable consequences. Chorus "ò e í" continuously resounded during the first and late months of 2005.
5. ADSL: any of your money
Besides mobile phones, ADSL broadband Internet also has a sudden increase in the number of subscribers. If in 2004, the whole country had only about 50,000 subscribers, this number was over 200,000 by the end of 2005. This rapid growth is due to the fact that service providers have adopted a new flexible pricing policy that serves a variety of needs.
However, just like with mobile phones, in order to win market share, these companies have lowered prices to too low levels, leading to the inability to maintain quality so they themselves have to admit to "what money "
6. Disputes connecting Viettel - VNPT
Viettel's "hot" growth "gets" cold water and cool down in the middle of the year when calls from 098 network to subscribers of VNPT are continuously blocked. Viettel affirmed that the reason is that the "big brother" VNPT refused to meet the connection demand. VNPT side said that their switchboard capacity has run out so it cannot meet all requirements of Viettel. The problem was so severe that it was described by the press as the "connection war" and even the Ministry of Defense, the governing body of Viettel, had to send a dispatch to help the Prime Minister.
This dispute once again shows the irrational need to abolish the monopoly in the post and telecommunications industry.
7. Pilot establishment of Post and Telecommunications Group
On March 23, 2005, the Government issued Decision No. 58/2005 approving the pilot project to establish a post and telecommunications corporation. With this decision, VNPT transformed from a centralized model of 'asking - giving' to a parent - subsidiary company model. The new model will empower the member units of VNPT to reduce dependence on corporations to more effectively use financial resources and increase competitiveness.
8. Spam and spy spread
In the past, people only knew about spam (spam), then in 2005 saw the spread of spam in Vietnam and the sale of email addresses with dense frequency on classified websites. Another specific example is the VN-N.com website that specializes in spyware (hijacking) to hijack the browser homepage.
9. Circulate blog landing
A few years ago Vietnamese Internet users heard about the outbreak of blogging in countries, but now in the last months of 2005, blogs have landed massively in Vietnam. This trend is popular thanks to the emergence of 360 services of Yahoo and then a series of websites supporting blogs of Vietnam.
10. Hackers become more dangerous
2005 marked a major change for "domestic" hackers. If vandalism had previously stopped at hijacking personal website domains, denial of service (DDOS) attacks or virus spread now, hackers have targeted the database of Big enterprises that attack the data leaked MobiFone mobile network is a typical case.
