19 Vietnamese scientists in the world rankings 2024

This year, Vietnam has 19 scientists listed in Research.com's rankings, with Hanoi National University leading with 4 scientists.

Research.com website (a prestigious electronic information portal for world scientists) has just announced the results of the ranking of scientists with outstanding achievements in 2024. Of which, 19 Vietnamese scientists working in the country are named in the ranking.

In this ranking, Research.com website reviewed data from nearly 170,000 of the world's leading scientists and divided them into 26 fields for ranking. Of these 26 fields, this year, 10 fields have Vietnam's name.

A series of Vietnamese scientists are on the list in many fields: Management and Business, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics and Finance, Engineering and Technology, Environmental Science, Materials Science, Mathematics, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Medicine, Social Sciences and Humanities.

The ranking of scientists appearing in each of the above fields, has the names of Vietnamese scientists or foreign scientists with university addresses in Vietnam, at least 1 person in 1 field and at most 7 people (computer science, mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering).

In the fields with the names of many familiar Vietnamese scientists: Associate Professor, Dr. Le Hoang Son (Hanoi National University) in the field of Computer Science; Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc (Hanoi National University) in the field of Engineering and Technology; Professor, Dr. Tran Xuan Bach (Hanoi Medical University) in the field of Medicine.

Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh (Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics) in the field of Economics and Finance; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thoi Trung (Van Lang University) and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hung (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology) in the field of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

This year, the Mathematics field is present for the first time in this ranking with two names: Professor Ngo Viet Trung, Institute of Mathematics and Professor Phan Quoc Khanh, Ho Chi Minh City National University.

Notably, in this ranking in the field of chemistry, the most outstanding Vietnamese scientist is Professor Philippe Derreumaux (address: Ton Duc Thang University) with a D-index of 63, ranking 6,336 in the world. He is also the only Vietnamese scientist to be named in this year's ranking in the field of Chemistry.
