27 people died in the central flood

This morning, the flood in the Central region came down to alarm 1. People are putting effort to overcome the consequences with 27 deaths, one missing person, and tens of billions of VND in material damage.

According to the Central and Central Highlands Flood and Storm Control Center, flood and flood have caused 27 deaths (including Quang Nam 19, Quang Ngai 3, Da Nang 3, Hue 1, Binh Dinh 1, Phu Yen 1 person) and one person missing. Although floodwaters begin to recede, many residential areas downstream of Quang Nam, Da Nang and Thua Thien - Hue provinces are still flooded.

Quang Nam is the most affected province. From November 5 to 9, heavy rain plus flooded hydropower made over 73,000 houses in Dien Ban, Duy Xuyen, Dai Loc and Hoi An towns flooded. Mr. Than Duc Suu, Chairman of Dien Ban District People's Committee said that the district has 9 people died due to the flood. Transportation, irrigation, infrastructure and crops were severely destroyed, not yet statistics.

In Thua Thien - Hue, flooding caused 36,000 houses to be flooded, of which Hue city was flooded with 20,000 houses. By this morning, many downstream areas were still deeply inundated, traffic was divided, students had to quit school. In particular, the influence of tropical depressions and northeast monsoon winds, Thua Thien Hue sea area has strong winds of level 6, causing 3 km of coastline in Thuan An - Phu Thuan area. Of which, 7/11 seas were invaded, collapsing 40m of fence of Ana Mandara Resort.

In Da Nang, 24 communes and wards in Hoa Vang, Ngu Hanh Son and Lien Chieu districts were flooded in the last flood. 3 ships are anchored and sunk by the flood, luckily there is no damage to people. By this morning, the water has withdrawn, people are actively cleaning houses and sanitation.

Flooding also damaged national highways 1A and 49. Many provincial roads, inner roads and ring roads were landslides, damaged roads, sidewalks and some signs. Until last night, the Ho Chi Minh road passing through Quang Nam was temporarily opened after many days of congestion due to dozens of points of landslide, the heaviest part was the adjacent Lo Xo pass between Phuoc Son and Dak Lei districts (Kon Tum ).
