Heavy rains on May 12 and 13 caused local flooding in some localities in Quang Tri province such as Hai Lang, Trieu Phong, Gio Linh, Cam Lo and Vinh Linh districts, with rice and crops being affected. damage to thousands of hectares, initial damage estimated at nearly 10 billion.

In the key area of ​​Hai Lang rice, flood water from the upstream flows to flood over 1,000 hectares of rice and 200 hectares of various crops. Hai Lang district also has many sections of dykes that have been eroded due to flood water overflowing on the system with a length of more than 3km; 5ha of fishponds are flooded, causing the fish to be washed away.

Not to mention dozens of tons of rice farmers had reaped home but could not expose to being damaged sprouts. The districts of Trieu Phong, Gio Linh, Vinh Linh and Cam Lo have a flooded area of ​​nearly 2,000 ha of rice and crops, of which nearly one third of the area is covered with crops. The flooded area is in the harvest period so the level of damage is very large.
