According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) in Honolulu, Hawaii, three earthquakes do not cause tsunamis. There is also no announcement about the damage caused by the earthquakes with the epicenter located far from the mainland.

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the 7.3-magnitude earthquake occurred near New Zealand's uninhabited Ackland island, about 500km south-west of Invercargill.

4 hours later, another earthquake occurred in the same area, with intensity of 6.6 degrees ritcher.

Earlier, according to Japan's Meteorological Agency, a 7.1-magnitude ritcher earthquake shook the Pacific Ocean. The earthquake is located about 400km southeast of Guam. And USGS measures a magnitude of 6.8 degrees.

Stuart Weinstein, assistant director of the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, said the earthquake occurred in a remote area. However, vibrations can be felt in Guam as well as Saipan, in the North Mariana Islands of the United States. These places almost never had earthquakes before.
