7 principles of prevention of disease in Tet season

The time of Tet holiday has many changes in environment, temperature, humidity . increasing the risk of disease, especially for people with weak health, reduced resistance. Weather this season is also a favorable environmental condition for pathogens to develop and spread such as respiratory diseases, colds, flu, diarrhea, measles, rubella, chicken pox . Exchange, travel and Concentrated people are also opportunities for disease outbreaks and rapid spread in the community.

Department of Preventive Medicine, Ministry of Health, recommends the main measures to be taken to proactively improve health, prevent diseases during Tet:

  1. Keep your body warm when the weather turns cold .Warm up for children when riding a motorbike, when outdoors.Working outdoors, going outdoors at night, early in the morning must be warm enough.Note to keep your feet, hands, chest, neck and head warm.
  2. Avoid contact with people who are showing signs of contagious diseases such as influenza, respiratory disease, diarrhea, measles, rubella, chickenpox . Limit access to crowded places.
  3. Eat enough food, ensure nutrition , eat lots of fruits to help the body enhance nutrition and improve resistance.Eat well balanced groups of starch, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals.Drink warm water, avoid eating, drinking food and water taken directly from the refrigerator.Ensure food safety and hygiene, do not eat broth, do not use poultry or poultry products from sick, dead and unidentified sources for food processing.
  4. Vaccination is adequate and on schedule for diseases with preventive vaccines.
  5. Ensuring environmental hygiene , family hygiene, keeping the house warm.
  6. Ensuring personal hygiene , regularly washing hands with soap, cleaning the nose and throat daily with salt water.
  7. When there are signs of suspicion of illness, they should go immediately to a medical facility for prompt examination and treatment.
