This world heritage is dangerous because of nuclear radiation and sharks . From 1946 to 1958, the island was the site of a trial of more than 20 US nuclear weapons. During the Second World War, this small island north of Scotland was used by the British government to test biological weapons . The experiments were conducted on an uninhabited island using anthrax bacteria, destroying hundreds of sheep. The island was isolated from other areas for many years.
