A bulletproof towel for gentlemen

An Icelandic fashion designer has successfully crafted a bullet-proof handkerchief for men who often face danger.

Sluli Recht, the designer, said he used Kevlar (a man-made fiber with a hardness five times that of steel) to make a handkerchief. It will be in the left breast pocket of the suit to protect the user's heart.

Kevlar is a registered trademark of yarn for the para-aramid artificial fiber, which is very stable and light. People use this material to produce bulletproof vests, warship shells, jet engines, helmets and Formula 1 racing motors. Kevlar can block bullets and withstand temperatures up to 400 degrees C.

Only Recht currently produced 10 bulletproof towels. All are yellow and sold for $ 130. "However, I am not responsible if someone put my handkerchief into my breast pocket and then put the gun on it and squeezed the trigger , " Recht said.

Before that Recht also built a bulletproof jacket. But his invention could not compete with the product of Miguel Caballero, a Mexican tailor.

In the store selling Miguel Caballero's small clothes in Mexico City, jackets and shirts are categorized according to the bulletproof level, not the size. Caballero uses a secret material he calls Black to create shirts. His products are so light that people feel like they're wearing paper.

Caballero revealed that he was successful because Mexico is a country where every year there are more than 3,000 murders and every day there are two or three kidnappings. Many experts say that, although the security situation in Iceland is better than Mexico, the current economic crisis may cause many bank owners to think of putting Recht's handkerchief into their suit pocket every time. go out.
