A giant iceberg broke
Researchers have said that over the weekend, an iceberg of the size of Maui island in Hawaii was broken into three pieces in the cold South Pole.

B-15A ice sheet
The broken iceberg named B-15A formed three distinct icebergs called B-15M, B-15N and B-15P. The two largest icebergs are the B-15M and B-15N, about the size of the Grand Caiman and Ste Croix islands.
These are the 13, 14 and 15 breaks of B-15A after the first break on May 30, 2000.
The B-15 iceberg, 160 kilometers long, is considered to be the largest piece of ice on the planet
The B-15A has been damaging in the Ross Sea for many months when it crashed into the coast and left behind giant pieces of ice the size of cities.
In January 2004, this huge iceberg in McMurdo Bay prevented sea currents and accumulated ice that threatened the balance of local ecosystems.
The recent break was discovered by satellite imaging of the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program managed by researchers at the National Ice Center (NIC) Center.
