If an individual sees love as the most important thing in everyday life, he or she will risk losing two close friends.

Everyone understands that when we establish a loving relationship, the time spent with others will decrease. However, this is the first time scientists have given quantitative figures about the 'losses' that love can cause to friendship.

The BBC said that researchers from Oxford University in the UK interviewed 540 people aged 18 and over in the number of their close friends after each affair.

' When falling in love with someone we risk losing two close friends. If you pay too much attention to your lover and reduce your interest in your friends, of course your intimacy with those people will decrease, 'said Oxford University professor of anthology Robin Dunbar.

Dunbar believes that the maximum number of friends can be up to 150. On social networks like Facebook or Twitter, most members have 120-130 friends. However, friends can be divided into two categories: close and normal. The maximum number of close friends can range from 4 to 6. Those are the people we can rely on when we have a crisis in our lives. Buddies exchange information with each other at least once a week. Meanwhile, most of us only exchange information with social partners once in a month or less.

The findings of Dunbar and colleagues are published in the Science Festival at Aston University, England.
