A medicine that will help you triple your Lucid dream experience

But you should wait for scientists to check its safety.

Lucid's dream, or lucid dream, is an interesting experience. In it, you know you're dreaming and can control what happens in it.

Even so, only about 50% of the population experience Lucid's dream in his life. Half of them don't even have really vivid dreams.

Previously, scientists developed a number of techniques that allowed people to practice to increase their chances of having Lucid dreams. For example , MILD technology can give Lucid dream rates from 9-16%, which is quite low.

The good news is that recently, scientists have discovered an oral drug that will increase your ability to activate the Lucid dream by up to 42%. This drug is even available and is being used to treat Alzheimer's disease.

The study was carried out by scientists from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Lucidity Institute, Hawaii. In it, they wanted to investigate the possibility of activating the Lucid dream of a chemical called acetylcholinesterase inhibitor (AChEl) .

In the past, we knew that there was a neurotransmitter, acetylcholine, in the brain that regulates REM sleep. AChEl helps acetylcholine synthesize in the brain, inhibiting an enzyme that inactivates acetylcholine (called acetylcholinesterase).

This process has been used to prepare galantamine, fast-acting AChEI, to help treat dementia in Alzheimer's patients. Although galantamine has mild side effects, scientists still convinced 121 volunteers to take it to activate the Lucid dream.

These volunteers include both ordinary people and lucid dream enthusiasts, who have been trained and used Lucid dream activation techniques, such as MILD techniques.

The experiment started with the first night, volunteers were asked to go to bed for 4.5 hours. Later, they are called up to perform Lucid dream activation techniques.

Once done, volunteers were given a placebo pill, just a galantamine-free capsule. They slept again and 14% had Lucid dreams.

The second night of the experiment, everything was repeated the same, but the scientists replaced the placebo with a real pill, containing 4 mg of galantamine. As a result, 27% of volunteers can control their dreams.

The third night, the galantamine dose was doubled, 8mg. Along with that, 42% of volunteers have Lucid dreams.

The combination of Alzheimer's with Lucid dream activation techniques seems to help increase its likelihood, proportional to the dose of galantamine consumed.

"This combined protocol resulted in a total of 69 of the 121 participants (57%) succeeded in having a Lucid dream for at least one of the two nights with active galantamine doses," the researchers wrote in their article.

"This protocol is one of the most effective methods of creating Lucid dreams ever known, and promises to spread Lucid's dream to a larger proportion of the population."

This has important implications. Because in addition to helping people enjoy wonderful dreams where they can control what happens, research can also help explain the connection between consciousness and Lucid's dream.

"This new method finally has the success rate that we need to study the Lucid dream," said Denholm Aspy , a psychologist at the University of Adelaide, Australia.

However, a recommendation made now is that people should not experiment with galantamine on their own, because it has certain side effects. Additional research is needed to confirm the safety of galantamine, before we get a drug that opens up the world of endless adventures with the Lucid dream.

The study was published in PLOS One magazine.

MILD 5-step technique helps you get Lucid's dream

  1. 1. Before going to bed, set the alarm at 5 hours later.
  2. 2. When the alarm goes off, remember the dream just before you wake up. If not, just recall any recent dreams.
  3. 3. Adjust your posture comfortably, turn off the light and repeat this statement in your head: "Next time in a dream, I will remember I am dreaming". Any words you have to understand the meaning of the word and focus on the intention to remember that you are dreaming.
  4. 4. Whenever you repeat the phrase in step 3, imagine you return to the dream you remember in step 2, while still imagining yourself remembering that you are dreaming.
  5. 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you fall asleep or make sure your memo intention is set. Make sure this is the last thing in mind before you go to sleep. If you find yourself constantly repeating the intention to remember you are dreaming, that is a good sign, it has been firmly established in your mind.
