Photographer Sinclair Cunningham arrives in the town of Kinghorn, Fife, Scotland, on September 3, with the intention of photographing the sunrise. He was surprised to see the pink rainbow and quickly captured it.
"I turned and saw the pink rainbow. I was in the right position to take a picture of it falling down the Kissing Trees cluster. The conditions at that time were perfect. In front of me was the Sunrise, the back was a rain. The beautiful blue sky is the background for the pink rainbow , " Cunningham described. This is the first time he encountered this scene in 8 years of photography. He intends to include this special picture in his calendar this year.
Pink rainbows often appear at sunrise or sunset due to the position of the Sun. At that time, the sunlight was forced to pass through the atmosphere more intensely, meteorologists Brandon Miller and Nash Rhodes of CNN explained. This makes only the red wavelength in the color spectrum of the rainbow refracted.
