ACM / ICPC candidates will program in C ++ language

The competition between international and Asia-Pacific qualifiers will take place in Hanoi from November 24-25, requiring candidates to show on Windows XP or Linux operating systems in the language. C / C ++, Java or open source programming, does not accept Pascal.

This is the first time, Vietnam hosted the qualifying tournament and will apply all international standards from machines and equipment as well as the use of English, online examinations .

As a rule, each university, college, and academy can register from 1 to many teams participating in the exam as University of Technology, Hanoi National University or 1 of 12 points of ACM qualifying test / ICPC Asia region. Each team consists of 3 students, 1 coach.

The first prize will be the team that won the most articles in the shortest time (PC ^ 2 automatically tests and counts, saves the process). After that, the test results are publicly available at the test site: online results in the first 4 hours. Particularly, the 5th exam will be temporarily suspended, and the final results will be announced at the award ceremony.

There will be 1 championship, 3 gold, 4 silver, 4 coins awarded to the top 12 teams. The winner will attend the final exam, scheduled to be held in Japan in March 2007.

There are currently 70 registered groups, including nearly 15 international teams from the University of Hong Kong, Seoul National (South Korea), Shanghai Transportation (China) . List of 55 teams In the country, there are quite well-known names such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Science, Technology - Hanoi National University, Hanoi University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Military Technical Academy, Study Institute of Posts and Telecommunications and IT . Especially, there are the appearance of teams from Da Nang, Hai Phong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Teacher Training College, Hong Duc University (Thanh Hoa), University Quy Nhon .

One of the weaknesses of Vietnamese contestants when coming to this big arena is English. Besides, 80% of schools in Vietnam are teaching Pascal. It is these things that make many young people hesitate to think about participating in the competition.
