Hanoi: Opening of international ACM / ICPC programming exam

In the afternoon of November 24, 2006, the 31st ACM / ICPC International Student Programming Exam, Hanoi test scores were officially opened.

ACM / ICPC is a long-standing test of American international students and has a great reputation in the world. This year, the 12th test site in the Asian region is held in Hanoi - Vietnam from November 24-25, 2006 (the location of the University of Technology, Hanoi National University).

This is the first time Vietnam has won the right to host the Asian regional qualifiers for the ACM / ICPC international programming competition.

Present at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Post and Telematics, Vu Duc Dam expressed his excitement. According to Mr. Dam, this is clearly an opportunity for Vietnamese students to integrate equally with students of prestigious universities in the region and the world in IT field.

Officially participating in this year's ACM / ICPC programming competition, there are 10 international teams from regional universities such as Hong Kong University, Seoul National University (Korea), Shanghai Transportation University ( China) . Vietnam has 48 teams participating in most big names: Hanoi University of Technology, University of Natural Sciences Ho Chi Minh City, Post and Telecommunication Academy & IT, Open University IT Department. Military Technical Academy, Pedagogical University 1 .

In particular, all procedures for this year's ACM / ICPC qualifying examination in Hanoi are conducted online. The exam has received enthusiastic support from the Government, the External Relations Committee of the Party Central Committee, the Ministry of Post and Telematics, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Public Security, the Union of Science Associations and many universities throughout the country.

The official exam will take place in 5 hours in the morning of November 25, 2006. The results are published online in the first 4 hours, the last one hour performance and the final result will be announced in the awards ceremony on the evening of the same day.

The exam in Hanoi will select a champion team, three first-place teams, four second prizes and four third prizes. The champion team will have the opportunity to take part in the world final examination, scheduled to be held in Japan in March next year (2007).
