After 30 years, Beijing picked up snow again in April
The last time it snowed in April in China's Beijing capital was in 1988, also on the occasion of Qing Ming.
On April 4, the Chinese capital saw its first snowfall in April after 30 years.Most areas in Beijing have medium to large snow, according to Xinhua.
Beijing has just undergone a winter without heavy snowfall.Therefore, the snow falling shortly after this spring makes many people surprised, rush hour traffic is affected.
As of 22h on 4/4, the average precipitation of the whole city reaches 8.9mm, the highest place is up to 16.3mm.
Although rare, Beijing has 12 times to pick up snow in April. The last time was in 1988, snow fell right (April 4 or 5 every year).
This year, Qingming fell on April 5, so the snowfall also affected the public holidays.
However, this is not the latest snowfall in Beijing.In 1959, the Chinese capital witnessed the snowfall on April 21.
Xinhua said that over the years, in Beijing, snow often stopped falling on March 5.
A total of 120 snow removal vehicles and more than 1,230 sanitation workers were mobilized to clean up.The snow stopped falling early in the morning.
