America first modified embryos
American scientists first used gene editing technology to interfere with human embryos.
Shoukhrat Mitalipov , head scientist of the Embryo and Gene Therapy Center of the Oregon University of Science & Health (OHSU) in Portland, for the first time applied genetic modification in human embryos, Reuters on 27/27 7 reported.

Mitalipov and colleagues used CRISPR technology to quickly and effectively modify genes. CRISPR acts as a molecular scissors, cutting off unwanted parts of the genome and replacing with new DNA fragments.
OHSU's research could make a complete difference in both the human embryos tested and in the ability to safely and accurately correct genetic errors of genetic diseases. Edited embryos cannot be developed for more than a few days.
Eric Robinson, OHSU spokesman, said the results of the study could soon be published in a scientific journal. Chinese scientists have published similar studies with different results.

According to scientists and ethics at an international conference at the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), Washington in December 2015, using genetic modification technology in human embryos for therapeutic purposes is "invisible." Every responsibility " safety and efficiency issues have not been resolved.
Earlier this year, NAS and the US National Institutes of Health reported that advances in science have turned genetic modification in reproductive cells into a real possibility and deserves to be considered.
Some countries around the world have signed agreements to ban human embryonic editing because of concerns that this technique could be used to create children with genetic traits according to the wishes of their parents and scientists. .
