1. Elephant shrew

They belong to the group of mammals, called Afrotheria, evolved in Africa over 100 million years ago, with relatives of elephants and sea cows . 5. Hyena Iberia

The hyena Iberia (Lynx pardinus) is in great danger of extinction, with a total of 84 to 143 individuals, living in Spain and Portugal. They are reduced in number due to the absence of their main prey, European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus).

6. Black-footed ferret

Black-footed ferrets (Mustela nigripes) from North America are no longer in the list of 'Endangered in nature' after major efforts to relocate captured animals into their habitat.
