Doan Thien Phuc and her creative ideas

These interesting things were realized by the idea of ' Positioning and management of motorbikes through mobile phones ' of Doan Thien Phuc (4th year student, Software Engineering, Information Technology Department, University of Natural Sciences HCMC). The idea has won a special prize of the Student Creative Idea Contest 2010 organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Sciences.

To do this, Phuc built two software running on mobile phones, part of which runs on RIM operating system along with the device attached to the motor phone, which supports GPRS, EDGE or 3G, but only need to use electronic circuit board inside, remove unnecessary components such as camera, speaker, keyboard, shell . with the current price of about 200 thousand VND, anti-theft set of 150,000 VND, plus A few more components total about 500 thousand VND. The phone is equipped with a platform-based software with support for JavaScript programming language and software installed using Google Maps digital map to communicate with its vehicle, and perform the task of receiving and sending information message according to the predefined syntax such as the phone number of the location sender.

The rest runs on the user's mobile phone (written in J2ME platform) and builds a server to manage the motorbike, and performs the following functions: Find the car in the yard when the number of vehicles is too large by Texting to let the car emit music or light the turn signal, open the seat, turn off and turn on the car remotely without the key . anywhere.

When the device in the vehicle receives a message, the software will filter and process the requests described in the message to perform operations and text messages to the sender. For example, when the device in the motorbike receives a message from the location owner, the software will immediately load the Google Maps map and let the sender know the position of the vehicle on the map, help the vehicle owner find a car. shortest way. Software on the user's phone also has the function of finding the shortest path to the position of the vehicle if unfortunately the car is stolen.

Phuc shared: ' I have witnessed car robberies publicly in the middle of the day. The bandit steals his car and runs at high speed, zigzagging on the road in front of the helpless shout of misery but eventually the wingless car flies. In that case, if the vehicle has a telephone device that uses this software, the vehicle owner only needs to perform a messaging operation to turn off the engine. When the car is running at high speed suddenly abruptly shutdown, the car will emit continuous chorus as the owner of the vehicle has been fixed by commands such as the car being robbed, thanks to everyone arresting the bandits. to deliver to the police, plus the buzzing of the siren repeatedly. At that time, the bandit would panic and only had to leave the car to get people . ' The feasibility of this software is very cheap price that anyone can access.

Phuc said: ' Normally, the expensive motorbikes are now equipped with anti-theft devices by owners with the price of several hundred thousand dong but can only control the car in a more distance. 100m through a remote. If using a GPS locator, the price is about 4 million but GPS is not always able to find satellites, such as when in the house or basement parking lot, it is difficult to find the location of the car '. Therefore, the introduction of a new device costs about 500 thousand dong but it has the function of locating and managing motorcycles everywhere which is a good choice for users.
