AOL offers 50GB online storage
Along with the announcement of a 5,000-man cut, AOL has announced it will provide a 5GB online storage service through its Xdrive product.
Xdrive is AOL's initiative to deploy its non-charging services. Through Xdrive, individuals can back up files: photos, documents, music, videos . Xdrive uploaded content can be accessed via any PC or mobile device. With Web connection. Users can even share files with others, as well as automatically upload e-mail attachments.
AOL will not charge additional users (currently charged at $ 10 / month). Free Xdrive service will be provided to any AOL or AIM registration account, starting next month.
Starting next September, Xdrive will be complemented by a number of other AOL services that it plans to offer to unregistered users.
