The halo appeared in the sky of Changji City - southwest of Tibet on May 12, Xinhua reported.
Like a rainbow, aura is the result of light refraction. When sunlight meets water vapor in the atmosphere, it forms halo around the sun. These halos occur in the atmosphere around the sun, not the sun.
Aura is a rare natural phenomenon, but it does not affect crops and climate, nor is it a disaster premonition like many people say.
