Previously in Nghe An, the same phenomenon appeared on May 7. The strange Sun area is most clearly seen in Quynh Yen commune (Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province).

A scientist explained that this strange natural phenomenon occurs due to the high temperature that makes the air layer's index change abruptly. Therefore, light rays are sharply refracted to form a circle around the Sun.
