Baby girl born with circus clown nose

An English girl born with a big, red nose like a circus clown due to the appearance of a benign tumor covering her nose.

According to the Daily Mail , doctors discovered a dark stain on Connie Lloyd's nose when a fetal ultrasound was performed at week 26. However, when she cried out in September 2008, she looked completely healthy.

When she was just a day old, Connie's parents Zara Green and Tom Lloyd, both 24 years old, suddenly noticed the growing red mark on the nose of her pet daughter. Within 1 month, red spots developed to 3.8cm in diameter.

"My husband and I were shocked to see Connie's nose. She looked like a completely different child, but we knew she was still her daughter," recalled Zara .

Doctors introduced Lloyd's family to a dermatologist at Great Ormond Hospital, who diagnosed Connie with a hemorrhage (Haemangioma) - a benign tumor.

Connie then became the eighth child in the UK to be tested using Propranolol , which is often used to treat heart disease, to prevent the tumor from growing bigger. However, Connie's parents were also informed that their daughter's disease is now untreatable and that she could bleed to death if her nose was torn or bruised.

Connie's mother has been searching for people who can help her. She eventually relied on the surgeon - Dr. Iain Hutchison, an expert on overcoming facial deformities.

Dr. Hutchison had surgery for Connie in March, removing the tumor on her nose and leaving only a small scar.

Connie's mother happily shared: "Before the surgery, Connie (now nearly 3 years old) was very shy and when people pointed, comment, she would turn and run. Even going to the doctor The surgery was terrible for both of us, too. I hid Connie in the car to avoid terrible comments from everyone .

Those were the longest moments of my life when Connie lay on the operating table. When she walked out of the operating room, she said her nose was now like her. Now, everything with Connie is really good. She has many friends and we are all proud of her. "
