Mary Two, a 6-week-old gorilla at a German zoo, was hospitalized for children after her mother neglected, leading to severe dehydration.
Mary Two, also suffering from hypothermia, was admitted to the intensive care department at Muenster University hospital last Saturday and discharged 1 day later.
Joerg Adler, director of the Allwetter zoo in Berlin, said Gana, his mother, was only interested in playing with other children, and " began to abandon the poor child ". When the small animal was found exhausted in her mother's arm, they separated them and took their gorilla to the emergency room at the right time.
Currently, Mary is bottle-fed. The zoo officials said it was accompanied by a caretaker who was transferred to another zoo in Stuttgart, where there was a special section for primate care.
