From 2011 up to now, Hung Dong High-tech Seed Station (Nghe An Plant Breeding Center) has successfully multiplied pink pepper banana with tissue culture technology.

This is a specialty banana variety of Hung Yen province, which has many advantages such as delicious fruit, large room, many pots, nice design, hard shell, bright yellow color, tough stalks convenient for transportation.

In the first days, researchers and technicians of the station were transferred to the Institute of Fruit and Vegetables Research and transferred technical advances. So far the station has received and perfected the breeding technologies such as the process of selecting initial materials, multiplying pink pepper bananas by cell culture technology in the laboratory.

The results showed that, from 120 initial samples, through the process of supplementing, 246 shoots were created as starting materials, 6 times of rapid multiplication achieved 25,290 standard buds. Then, in 2012 from 138 original samples, through 460 samples were created to create buds as the starting material, through 5 times of rapid multiplication achieved 19,432 standard buds. The technical staff of the station also completed the technology to take care of invitro plants in the stage of nursery level I and II and shortened the growth time of banana trees.

After a period of successful breeding in the laboratory and testing the vitality of banana plants outside the nursery, the station used these seedlings to plant on an area of ​​5 ha in Dai Thanh commune (Yen Thanh) and Thuong commune. Son (Do Luong). Over time, banana tissue culture plants are quite adaptable to the climate and soil conditions in these two localities, growing and developing stably after 45 days of planting. From seedlings 20cm high, after about 10 months, the trees are about 1.5m high and start harvesting.

In intensive cultivation conditions, the banana pepper variety is multiplied by tissue culture technology to start growing after 8 months of planting and after harvest for 13-15 months. Mr. Ho Xuan Du in Thuong Son commune said: Pink pepper banana varieties are easy to grow, suitable for land, adapt to local weather conditions, just need some basic techniques, irrigate enough water and fertilize fully healthy and fast growing. The tree produces fruits all year round, the fruit is beautiful, the quality is good and sweet, the selling price of bananas in the garden ranges from 6,000 - 7,000 VND / kg.

Through evaluation, the cultivation of pink pepper bananas has higher economic efficiency than other crops. Bananas grown in the two localities have a quantity of 10-12 kilos / chamber and each weight is from 1.6 to 2 kg / litter, the productivity is from 42 to 46 tons / ha, after deducting investment costs. , interest is over 135 million VND / ha, 3 - 4 times higher than rice.

From the research results, the High-tech Seed Station Hung Dong has initially bred successfully the pepper-grown banana variety by the technology of tissue plant cultivation and has been able to actively control disease-free seed sources and high uniformity, thereby reducing costs.
