Be careful when using Alaxan analgesics

Alaxan is a combination of two ingredients, paracetamol (analgesic, antipyretic) and ibuprofen (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug), so it has the effect of antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory. The combination of ibuprofen and paracetamol at a reasonable therapeutic dose will be safer when using two separate tablets, but with a higher analgesic effect.

The drug is indicated for anti-inflammatory analgesia in the following cases: muscle pain, joint pain due to trauma, rheumatism, neuritis (back pain, crooked neck, sprains, excessive muscle tension .), treatment of aches head, fever, toothache, dysmenorrhea .

Due to the combination of analgesic form, Alaxan can reduce pain quickly, favored by patients. However, attention should be paid to the adverse effects of the drug. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal tract. Up to 5-15% of patients taking ibuprofen experience this phenomenon: abdominal distention, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, more severe than advanced gastric ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding .

Therefore, people with advanced gastric ulcers, hypersensitivity to one of the components of the drug, liver failure, severe renal failure should not be used. In addition, the drug can cause neurological disorders (headache, dizziness), skin allergies (rash, itching), edema, visual disturbances (blurred vision, color disorder) and decreased visual acuity poison medicine .

Patients with heart failure, liver failure, kidney failure, patients taking diuretics, and especially the elderly when taking Alaxan should carefully monitor the excretion of urine and kidney function.

For those who operate vehicles and use machines, pay attention to the risk of dizziness when taking medicine. Absolutely do not use Alaxan in the third trimester of pregnancy (because of the risk of fetal toxicity) and at the end of pregnancy (because of the risk of bleeding in the mother and baby due to inhibiting platelet function of ibuprofen, increasing the risk muscle bleeding).

If the patient feels blurred vision, vision loss or confusion about color perception, then stop taking the drug. To avoid digestive disorders, take the medicine at full time and drink with a large glass of water (about 200-250 ml).
