Bebionic3 robot hand - Cyborg's future is not far away
If you have a chance to meet Mr. Nigel Ackland, you may be mistaken for a real-life cyborg.
If you have a chance to meet Mr. Nigel Ackland, you may be mistaken for a real-life cyborg. Because he has a high-tech robotic hand that can simulate all movements like a regular hand. This robotic hand, called Bebionic3 , is part of a research and fabrication project for robot parts that can simulate and replace parts of the people of RSLSteeper, UK.

Bebionic3 has been studied for many years, and Mr. Nigel Ackland's hand is the third version, also the latest version of this project. Unlike the movement of the feet, the hands of the human have extremely complex movements, with about 29 bones, 34 muscles, 48 nerves and 123 ligaments to perform activities. Therefore the design of the Bebionic 3 hand that can simulate the movements of the hand is extremely complex.
Bebionic3 is designed like a real hand, with all the fingers and knuckles, and flexible thumbs to grasp objects easily. Moreover, Bebionic3 is controlled by electromagnetic pulses of the muscles of the rest of the user's arm. Therefore, the control will be simpler, even though the hand is heavier and depends on the battery.
Each finger is controlled by a separate motor undertaken by the processor, thus enabling it to function flexibly. The hand can automatically adjust when holding an object in the best way, so it can still hold soft or slippery objects. Also Bebionic3 can be covered by a leather glove just like a real hand, which can make it impossible for others to recognize it as a robotic hand.
Although Bebionic3 is an impressive achievement in RSLSteeper's research, it is still a long way to go into widespread use. Moreover, the robotic hand does not yet have the feedback sensors that help users identify and feel like a regular hand, so the control sometimes has some difficulties. Besides, the price of Bebionic3 is not yet announced, but with the technology used, its price will be very high, and not suitable for ordinary users.
