Biological super-durable

Picture 1 of Biological super-durable Scientists have successfully engineered 'super healthy' muscle cells powered by hydrogen and alcohol. They can be used to make prosthetic limbs with more useful features for patients.

In the journal Science, the team said the artificial muscles were 100 times more powerful than humans.

They say these muscles can even be used in 'skeleton skins' to increase the strength of those who perform certain tasks, such as firefighters, soldiers and astronauts.

This special artificial muscle was developed by scientists at the University of Texas in collaboration with colleagues from Korea.

Currently, artificial muscles are battery operated.
