Experimental animal station of Dieu Tri (Binh Dinh Animal Science and Technology Center) is raising 500 Egyptian chickens, imported into Vietnam by the National Institute of Animal Husbandry in 2003, raised at Thuy Phuong poultry farm ( Hanoi) and for reproduction. Binh Dinh is the first province of Central Vietnam to bring and test this chicken breed.

According to the experimental results in the Institute of Animal Husbandry, this breed has many advantages: high egg production - 220 fruits / year / roof (chickens from 110 - 120 fruits; phoenix chicken salaries 16 0 - 170 fruits / roof / year); Chewy, delicious meat like chicken, egg yolk ratio, nutrition is also very high . This chicken breed can be raised in the garden, industrial and semi-industrial, tolerant of suffering, able to fit conditions of breeding practices in Binh Dinh.

Their feathers have white, dark, black spots mixed; Legs are also dark black. Perhaps these points are external restrictions of Egyptian chicken breeds compared to local consumers' tastes and customs (the type of chicken consumers prefer is usually fur, skin, yellow legs, white flesh, tough, characteristic aroma).

However, this is a fast-growing, 5-month-old chicken breed; white chicken, delicious as chicken; nutrition rate in eggs, meat is very high; can be farmed in industrial and garden form.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thai added: need to test and survey within 2 years, with 3 farming methods: gardening, with locally available food; Farming in narrow gardens feeding industrial and industrial feed. Each breeding formula is 100 animals. At the end of the experimental period, the effectiveness of each farming formula will be calculated and the appropriate farming methods will be given to farmers.

Estimated by the station, if Egyptian chickens develop well in Binh Dinh, the station will breed this breed with some breeding chickens (chicken, phoenix, tam Hoang, .) choose the best hybrid to improve the black-legged, spot-spotting flaws of Egyptian chickens.
