A map posted on the Disaster Information System website that tracks fire events in the western United States shows that the fire has spread near the Hetch Hetchy reservoir area, the main water supply for 2, 6 million people live in San Francisco Bay, about 320km from the forest fire to the west.
The source also said that the fire force only controlled 7% of the fire. More than 2,800 firefighters, with the help of helicopters and fire fighters, are still struggling to fight the fire.
Earlier, local media said the huge fire had burned more than 54,000 hectares of forest and closed the northwestern area of Yosemite Park. Satellite images show the huge white smoke columns that are blown by the wind to the neighboring state of Nevada.
The forest fire in California began to erupt from August 17 and so far has not identified the cause of this disaster.
