Cheap selling computers thanks to Windows Vista

After Acer launched a low-cost laptop running Windows Vista in Vietnam, many local PC makers also immediately launched a product that installed Microsoft's new operating system to retain customers.

According to Doan Hong Viet, Director of DigiWorld Company, Windows Vista pre-installed computers are sold very well. 'Partly because users are attracted to the features of the new operating system. On the other hand, the price of these computers is not much different from the pre-installed Windows XP, 'Viet said.

HP A6058L entertainment computer comes preinstalled with Windows Vista Home Basic.

Currently, DigiWorld has 10 laptop models with Windows Vista pre-installed, starting at $ 699 (not including VAT). The new Sputnik 8000 notebook was launched by CMS Company on April 16 and cost 9.9 million dong. Olympia CMS and CMS Saint Giong 8000 are also sold 7.7 million and 6.6 million VND, respectively.

HP Vietnam also announced that the upcoming HP Pavilion A Series desktop line will be fully compatible with the new operating system, labeled Vista Ready. Particularly, HP A6058L preinstalled Windows Vista Home Basic. Although not yet announced the price, but HP Vietnam representative said the product will be "very attractive".

The reason for selling Vista computers is not much different from Windows XP because most of them use the two cheapest versions: Starter Edition and Home Basic. These two versions do not have a sleek 3D Aero interface but still have many entertainment, security and technical support features directly from Microsoft. Therefore, it is appropriate for most Vietnamese computer users at the present time.
