Chicken has its own personality, logical reasoning is better than children

Scientists conclude that chickens can curb, recognize numbers and have better logical reasoning than children.

A study published in Animal Cognition on January 2 concluded that chickens have a distinct personality and ability to reason logically better than children. They can identify numbers, even newly hatched chicks are capable of distinguishing numbers and doing simple calculations, according to the Huffington Post.

"Chickens are capable of logical reasoning. In humans, this ability develops from the age of 7. In addition, chickens can identify time periods and predict future events , " said Dr. Loro. Marino, a senior scientist for the "The Someone" project, specializes in studying the behavior, intelligence and emotions of farm animals, said.

Marino's research shows that chickens have the ability to control to receive better food rewards, as well as self-assess their position in the herd. Those are the two characteristics of self-consciousness .

Chickens can experience many negative and positive emotions such as fear, hope and anxiety. They have at least 24 types of cries to attract mates or dangerous alarms. In addition, scientists also found that the personality characteristics of mother hens can affect chicks' behavior.
