Children are increasing their blood pressure due to overeating

A study in the UK showed that children are getting more and more high blood pressure due to high salt intake.

British scientists at St George University, London, conducted research on 1,600 children aged 4 to 14 years, showing that the more salt they eat, the higher their blood pressure. They collected data based on the National Diet and Diet Study. Thereby, the researchers found that by consuming an extra gram of salt, the child will have hypertension in the heart.

Research results have been published in the Journal of Hypertension (Journal of Human Hypertension).

According to the research team, this is an important finding, the more confirmed that eating more salt, the more likely it is to have high blood pressure in childhood. At the same time, a high-salt diet will cause weight gain. Therefore, eating less salt at a young age will help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and adult stroke.
