China made artificial snow in Tibet to combat drought
Xinhua News Agency yesterday (April 18), reported that China has just created the first snow in Tibet to prevent possible drought in the future. According to Xinhua, the Tibetan meteorological meteorological station has successfully fabricated artificial snow for the first time in the north, 4,500 meters above sea level, last week.

Yu Zhongshui, an engineer at the Tibetan Meteorological and Hydrological Station, said: "The artificial snow show for the first time demonstrates human efforts can change the weather in the roof of the world highlands. this ".
According to measured data, snow falls into an average layer of about 2.2mm thick. When the artificial snow is over, the snow layer on the surface reaches 1cm thick. Engineer Yu said that this artificial snowmaking operation could help limit the effects of drought in the northern Tibetan grasslands.
A few months ago, Chinese scientists had warned that rising temperatures in the Qinghai-Tibet plateau would melt glaciers, dry up the country's great streams and cause drought, sandstorm and desertification in the region.
