According to the Vietnam News Agency on May 18, 2006, China plans to use biofuels to replace 10 million tons of oil preparations to reduce energy pressure by 2020. domestic.
Speaking at the decentralized sustainable energy solutions forum, the deputy director of the Energy Research Institute of China National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Han Wenke, said China strives to by 2020, the replacement energy source will add 400-500 million tons of converted coal and this clean energy source will account for 10% of the annual energy.
China takes every opportunity to reduce pressure depending on sources of fossil fuels such as oil and coal.In the photo: An area of wind power generation in China ( Source: greenpeace )
It is expected that among the 360 million kW of alternative energy, there will be 300 million kW from hydroelectricity, 30.15 million kW from wind power, 30 million kW from biogas and 1.8 million kW from solar energy.
Production of bio-liquid fuels such as ethanol or biodiesel will amount to 12 million tons and can replace about 12 million tons of petroleum products.
High crude oil prices have encouraged investment in alternative energy sources. According to World Watch Institute, in 2004 the world's production of ethanol and biodiesel reached more than 30 billion liters, accounting for 3% of the total amount of gasoline consumed worldwide.
Currently China's corn ethanol production is 1.02 million tons / year, ethanol production is tested from sweet sorghum is 5,000 tons / year and biodiesel output is 20,000 tons / year.
The pilot program of mixing ethanol with gasoline in some provinces in China has yielded positive initial results and in the coming time the country will deploy to other provinces.
