China started producing domestic chips

China has officially started production of Godson IIE 'homegrown' microprocessor chips.

Godson IIE chip is designed and manufactured by the Computer Technology Institute under the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Godson chip is expected to help reduce the price of personal computer products.
