Chinese supercomputers continue to keep the world record

China's fourth Tianhe 2 (Tianhe 2) system has been recognized as the world's fastest supercomputer for the fourth time.

>>>China announced the world's most powerful supercomputer

Thien Ha 2 is a system designed and developed by the expert group of National Defense Technology University (NUDT). This is the fourth time this supercomputer has been recognized as the fastest system according to the ranking of the Top 500 project.

China's supercomputer has a speed of 33.86 petaflop (33.86 million calculations per second) and the theoretical peak processing speed is 54.9 petaflop. It consists of 16,000 intersections, more than three million computer cores, uses 80,000 Intel Xeon processor boards, China's FT-1500 processor system and has the operating system Kylin Linux.

According to experts, supercomputers serve the needs of scientific research, including molecular scale physics, weather forecasts and astronomical signal processing. The technology behind supercomputers is also used for military purposes such as simulating nuclear weapons testing and decoding.

Reuters said that the Titan system of the Oak Ridge National Experiment Center under the US Department of Energy is second. America is also a country that accounts for more than half of the top 10 rankings with 6 supercomputers.

The Top 500 project began in 1993, reviewing and announcing the super-computer rankings of countries around the world.
